Electric Speed Boat

IDEA - ELECTRIC SPEED BOAT

Idea grew from the fact that when I wakeboarded we would try to weigh the boat down. Some guys i know would fill containers of water and weigh down bow to increase wake. We can fill up the bow of a speed boat with 12V batteries and use a 100HP electric engine.

100HP DC electric motor is 144 Volt.

Link up 12 x 12volt batteries (maybe even 24 or 36?) too much weight? can we add once in water?

with 12 x 12volt batteries i estimate we will get less than an hour. Although you start and stop a lot this may increase or decrease battery time. Will it stretch it out to 2-3 hours because an electric motor has max torque at low revs and i am pulling wakeboarders out of water or will it pull more out of the batteries?

Capaciters are going to be essential and increase the time out there.

Solar skin over the bow of the boat and solar cells on the tower to double as shade.

Recharge over night using standard 240V extension cord from the boat shed or the caravan park, generator.

...have done R&D and r now waiting on battery availability as new capaciters will be available soon.
